Carrickfergus Mencap

Carrickfergus Mencap formed over thirty years ago to become the voice of learning disability in the district of Carrickfergus. This covers the geographical area from Jordanstown to Larne and westwards towards Ballyclare. Being part of National Mencap means that we can continue their work on a local level.

Carrickfergus Mencap is also made up of two social clubs, Carrick Junior Gateway and Carrick Senior Gateway.

Carrickfergus Junior Gateway

Carrickfergus Junior Gateway is a youth club for children aged seven to eighteen with learning disabilities and special needs. They operate throughout the school term on Saturday mornings between 10am and 12pm in Sunnylands Youth Centre. Their website can be found at: www.carrickjuniorgateway.org.uk.


Carrickfergus Senior Gateway

Carrickfergus Senior Gateway is a social club to designed advance the personal development of adults with a learning disability. They meet every Wednesday Night at 7.30pm in the Gateway Church, Carrickfergus. Their website can be found at www.carrickseniorgateway.com
